Also known as: Kuntze partridgefoot, partridge-foot, partridge foot. Habitat: Moist and gritty areas in Alpine and subalpine regions. Shade intolerant. The plant forms lush evergreen mats and expands by creeping along on rhizomes. Interest: The leaves of Partridgefoot look like tracks left by a Ptarmigan, a game bird found in mountain and Arctic areas.
