Also known as: Lanceleaf spring beauty, Lance-leaf springbeauty. Habitat: Moist streambanks in alpine tundra. Interest: Blooms soon after snow melt; up to 15 pink or pink-veined white flowers up to 2 cm across; lanceolate leaves; grows from an underground corm that is reported to taste like a potato when cooked.
