Gentiana prostrata

Habitat: Occurs in bogs and wet arctic and alpine tundra meadows up to 1,800 m (6,000 feet).

Interest: The plant has a single, terminal, blue to purple flower with four or fice lobes. It has 3 to 4 pairs of ovate leaves on each branched stem. The plat is prostrate in form. It is amphi-Beringian is distribution.  This flower is reported to open only on sunny days.

Location: Monument Hill, Keno, Yukon.
