Woolly Daisy

Erigeron lanatus

Also known as: Woolly Fleabane, Wooly Daisy.

Habitat: Open rocky alpine ridges on alpine slopes, often on limestone talus.

Interest: The ray flower petals are white or bluish pink in colour, up to 2.5 cm wide.  Each flower stem supports a single flower head.  Dense hairs cover the stem and leaves. The Woolly Daisy is reported to be disjunct in Yukon.  The plant generally does not exceed 5 cm in height.

Location: Sugarloaf Mountain, Carcross, Yukon.
